Give a little to help a lot!

In honor of National AIDS Awareness month, we've added a new charitable vgift. For each red ribbon you purchase for $2.99, we'll donate 100 percent of gross proceeds to IAVI.org (the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative) to support the development and global distribution of an affordable HIV vaccine (we'll cover credit card fees). You can read more about IAVI at lj_cares. While we're on the subject, we raised $740 from our November fundraiser for Love Without Boundaries, which supports emergency healthcare and adoption of Chinese orphans. We thank you for helping us help others.
Photos of the weekWe're back with more incredible pictures from our super-talented LiveJournal photographers. Congratulations to ilya_gorokhov, who is the winner of our very first lj_photophile poll.

We hope you'll continue to post, vote, and comment! A gentle request: Please post only one photo at a time and limit size to 350x350 (so images display properly on friends pages). And now, without further ado, get ready to cast your ballot and view more awesome user content after the jump!

 | 11:56 pm - this heart, my heart.

words can't describe how much I do understand about certain things now. in fact, a brief description would be how thankful I am to see God answering prayers which I may or may not have forgotten. I'm glad to see things happening bit by bit, perhaps it's still incomplete or not what I thought it would be. still, it takes little steps at a time to see the big change. I sure can't wait to see what's more to come! ;)
I hope the rest would start to see the change in you.
indeed, I've been putting my focus too much on the bigger things till I've forgotten / neglected the smaller ones. or should I say, ...worry?
Matthew 6:34 (The Message) Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
I should trust the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding.
He had blessed me more than what I deserved. He had given me more than what I need. He had provided me more than what I should have. He deserves more praises than what I had given.
Holy Lord, You are holy Jesus Christ is the Lord

 | 12:18 pm - MogileFS Maintenance **EDIT Thu Dec 3 23:24:15 UTC 2009 **
Hey Everyone, we are about to run the last alter job that we need to on our database servers. This will effect userpics / scrapbook / vgift images for the next few hours. Have no fear, your images aren't lost, there is just a really intensive process running on the servers which store the information for mogilefs. Thank you for your understanding and all the LJ love...
Hey LJers,
I just wanted to let you all know that we are going to be performing some mogilefs maintenance over the next few days. We will be upgrading our current version to latest stable as well as changing some db config information to better handle the amount of files we are currently hosting. This shouldn't cause a big impact on site stability, but you may see some minor delays with userpic / scrapbook images appearing or other requests associated with our mogilefs. We would love to not have that happen, but unfortunately with some of the steps we need to take we have to cause a delay with images. I figured this was a better solution than taking down all of LiveJournal because well lets face it, we all need our daily LJ fix ;)

 | 11:19 am - why did you go? just found out that a Korean model committed suicide. her name is Daul Kim and i wonder if you do know her? a young tender age of 20 and she gave life away just like that. she's got fame, got wealth, got beauty, got a successful career. almost everything a person would want. but why? why did she let go of her life so easily?
20. there's so much more to life, and she gave up her run. through her story it showed me more that life can be meaningful, even without fame, wealth, beauty, or even "success". all these will fade. she gave in to depression, to anger, to sorrow. i can't help but felt a heartbreak for her. she wasn't helped, she wasn't saved, she wasn't brought out of her misery. and a life just gone wasted, blown by the wind.
one thing that would not fade... God's love = Jesus Christ = salvation. & i know what i've found is precious.
( p.s: did you also realize that 2009 has been a year of many lives fading? )
thank You for Your love.

 | 03:02 am - Hosanna in the Highest. Ezekiel 36:24-28 (The Message) For here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to take you out of these countries, gather you from all over, and bring you back to your own land. I'll pour pure water over you and scrub you clean. I'll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you. I'll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that's God-willed, not self-willed. I'll put my Spirit in you and make it possible for you to do what I tell you and live by my commands. You'll once again live in the land I gave your ancestors. You'll be my people! I'll be your God!
love it at how He speaks to each individual differently. lives touched, hearts moved. we love You, Lord! :)

 | 09:58 pm - half truth.
i'm cold beyond words can say. half truth is not the truth, its assymetric information. it is only the truth when the whole truth is out, cause the other half of the truth could mean a whole lot different. and half truth cause moral hazard.
moral harzard and assymetric information, are words i learnt in school in the module" banking and finance' and WOW, i didnt know i could actuallly applied it here too.
words left unsaid, truth said halfway, what's the different.

 | 06:06 pm - daddy's and brother's leaving. is angry and sad now. you've crossed the line. again and again history repeats, when will you ever learned your listen. i dontwant to talk to you. why do you have to make it so hard to love you? finally understood why we're/ i'm in such a situation. maybe its us, maybe its you? who? can this ever be solved or am i slowly losing hope? one moment i was told to be mature and the next minute, you crossed the line and i broke down immediately. i cried like a baby. one can be mature in one aspect and immature at the other aspect. remember, there's always a flip side to anything. call me childish, call me a boy, and i say i dont care, when im told when people say they dont care actually they care the most, when let me tell you, sometimes its true, but now i really dont.
i guess im really very weird, i dont even understand myself very well. suddenly i feel like moving out renting a room outside and leaving on my own. put aside studies, where's as i have to say studies do used up a lot of my time, theres so manythings things i need/wants/settle to do. simply just putting them all on hold. P-A-U-S-E. i hope i will be able to press the pause button long enough till the exam ends.
daddy's and brother going to be oversea tommorrrow, not another time daddy leaves oversea without me. i just HOPE i can survive and not miss him too much. i dont want to cry, be in my room alone missing daddy. there are things i may not say, cause i dont have the courage, but at times i pull out my courage and says stuff like" i miss you, i love you" i really meant it.this words has made me tongue tight too many times. there's so many things i have yet to tell him when he left jus now. chaos happen just now. and i didnt even get to say goodbye to you ):
oh no. i better stop this entry now. this entry is getting alittle too emotional. i shall end it happy, daddy going to spurge on me when he's back. he's wants to get me another dslr camera,i think i will get that, or is there something else i can get?
bit by bit, starting to close myself up. computer can be my best friend. im sorry people if recently i have been a little cold towards you, i just dont feel like talking. i will be back to myself sooon. if you read all this above, wow, im sorry to have made you bored. Current Mood: cold

 | 01:36 pm - so... what's Your answer? it's not about saying, it's about doing. it's not about words, it's about action. it's not about believing, it's about faith. it's not about doubt, it's about trust. it's not about confidence, it's about hope.
putting faith into action is how we see rainbows in life.
or should i say, there's always a rainbow after the heavy rain?
rain = wetshoes, can't go out, wetclothes, etc... why not think about the cool weather, the fun splash in puddles or letting the raindrops touch your delicate face?
awaiting for an answer now... listening VERY carefully (just in case if i slipped to hear it) Your voice, i'm recognizing.
let the sun stand still!
